I absolutely fell in love with these wedges and I had to purchase them. I first saw these beautiful shoes on Blair Eadie (Atlantic-Pacific) and I thought they were the perfect shoes. As you might already have figured it out I really have no cons for these wedges. Let me say that I really find it difficult to walk in heels and I was looking for the perfect shoes that could give me a bit of extra height since I am only 5’1 ft tall. I thought it was going to be impossible because all the wedges I have ever tried either were too high or very uncomfortable, well Pour La Victoire Mai Wedge pump is the solution to all my issues. I especially love them because you get the wedge’s comfort with the pump look, very classy indeed.
Following I will post the specifics of the shoes and pictures and additional thoughts. I purchased the Mai wedge in two colours: Sand Nubuck and Coral Red Nubuck, and yes if I could afford it I would purchase more colours. I am a size 37EU/4UK/6.5US for flats and a size 38EU/4UK/7-7.5US for heels. With these ones I got a 7.5 since they are point toe shoes and I wanted more room in the toe box, I made the right choice.
Mai Wedge Pump’s details:
- Pebbled nubuck upper
- Point toe
- Padded insole
- Self-covered wedge, 3½” (90mm)
- Nubuck upper
- Leather lining and sole
I pretty much love everything: I love the fit, they don’t bite the back of my feet, there is plenty of room in the toe box (I suggest purchasing half a size up), they are not too pointy and the leather is very soft, they show a bit of toe cleavage, which I reckon is very sexy.
CONS: As you can see from the Coral ones I had to take them to the cobbler, after I I wore them twice, to resole them because the sole is very thin and wears out very quickly, not much of an issue since it only cost me €15.
